In 1999, Artesis developed the first product in the global market that utilized model based fault detection technology in electric motor testing. It was, actually, a product for motor manufacturers to do quality control testing at the end of their assembly lines. A few years later, it introduced MCM, which could detect failures on individual motors which were first modeled and then monitored continously. Today, Artesis has MCMs intalled in a variety of industries around the world. The success stories of MCM users are growing everyday. Artesis has its manufacturing base and headquarters in Turkey.

Origins of the Model Based Fault Detection Technology
The initial applications of the technology dates back to 1980s. It came to the forefront as a technology applied for failure detection in the Space Shuttle Main Engine. This application had been developed by Dr. Ahmet Duyar, from Florida Atlantic University, and was outlined in his paper in 1992 titled: "Fault Diagnosis for the Space Shuttle Main Engine", co-Authored by Walter Merril of Nasa Lewis Research Center. Dr. Duyar continued working on applying the technology to electric motors, and later founded Artesis.
